Owner / Studio Manager / Barretender

Andrea has been teaching barre over 5 years and has a passion for helping people achieve their health & fitness goals all while being kind and gentle to their bodies with the low-impact and technical nature of barre. She has her BS in Anatomy/Physiology (pre-physical therapy) and also grew up dancing, both of which helped pave the path to Open Barre! She opened the studio December 2015 with a mission to make a place where people can come to push themselves to be stronger and leaner in the safest, most effective way possible, with no intimidation factor—no matter the starting point. She wants everyone to feel welcome here!

Mariessa really shines by her ability to motivate and uplift everyone in her classes. When asked her favorite part of teaching, she responded, “I love seeing the growth each week; the goals met, the extra repetition without a break, grabbing the heavier weights, trying the more challenging option. My favorite part of class is when we all go to turn off our cameras at the end of the livestream classes, and the hair is a mess, the faces are flush, there’s a glow around each person, and a smile comes across everyone's faces as we all enjoy that moment we worked so hard for.”

Jessyka loves getting creative in her classes with new exercises and effective combos set to fun music! Her classes are always challenging, in the best way. After barre personally transformed her body and she saw how much it helped her strength & flexibility, she decided she wanted to share it with others to help them strengthen their bodies and get mentally strong in the process as well! She used to shy away from group fitness classes because they can be intimidating, but barre changed that for her and it can for you too! The game changer for her was that moves can be modified easily on days when your body isn’t cooperating. It truly is an all-inclusive practice!

Tamara has been teaching barre since 2009, and other forms of group fitness for even longer. She currently teaches spin as well, but believes nothing has changed her body as much as barre did. She loves how gentle it is on the body while also being extremely effective. Her classes are tough and inspiring – she will push you more than you thought you could be pushed, and crack a few jokes along the way!
